I wanted to profile a comment that a rep for The National Dialogue on Health Information and Privacy left on our site:
"We are going to invest in information technology to eliminate bureaucracy and make the system more efficient."
- Barack Obama, October 15, 2008
"We need to put health care records online. The V.A. does that."
- John McCain, October 15, 2008
The candidates are talking about healthcare information technology.
Now it's time for the rest of us to join in the debate. Beginning on
October 27th 2008, all Americans are invited to submit and vote on the
most important challenges, breakthrough ideas, and core principles
that should guide government's response to this critical issue. Would
you please invite your readers to join us?

The National Dialogue on Health Information and Privacy is working to
shrink the divide between government leaders and the rest of us.
This first-of-its-kind online-only event at
www.TheNationalDialogue.org will solicit input on the question, "How
can we use information technology to improve the way patients interact
with the healthcare system, while safeguarding their right to
privacy?"
This process will produce concrete, actionable suggestions to guide
government policy of the next presidential administration. A panel of
Fellows from the National Academy of Public Administration will
distill the results of this dialogue into a report that captures
"citizen-centric" recommendations. The report will be presented to the
transition team for the new Administration, as well as the Office of
Management and Budget, the General Services Administration, the
Federal CIO Council, and other relevant Federal agencies.
Join this event, and let your voice be heard. Better healthcare begins
with better dialogue.
